Two prominent local OVCA curlers were honoured recently for their contributions to the great sport of curling.


On October 21, 2017, Doug Kreviazuk, Chair of the Ontario Curling Association presented Marian Dupont with the highest Ontario Curling Association award - Honorary Lifetime Achievement award for Marian's contribution to curling.  Marian's achievements are well known across the region, Ontario, nationally and internationally.  
The award was presented at the Governor General's Curling Club AGM and Luncheon at the Ottawa Hunt Club.

At the same meeting, Alain Deschâtelets was granted the red jacket of the Governor Generals Curling Club.  From Curling Quebec:
" Alain Deschâtelets has been involved in curling for many years and he has greatly contributed to grow our sport locally (Buckingham curling club), regionally (Outaouais) and provincially as a player, ambassador, organizer and board member. He became a member of the Governor General’s Curling Club last Saturday in recognition of his significant contribution to the development and promotion of the sport. Congratulations Alain!"
