Designed to teach the Ice Technician how to install curling ice with a review of maintenance procedures.
Participants must have one of the following pre-requisites/statuses:
- Trained Club Ice Technician Assistant;
- World Curling Federation – Introduction to Curling Ice Maintenance (online course);
- 12 months working in a curling facility under the supervision of a Certified Curling Ice Technician;
- Former Curling Canada Level 1 Ice Technician Course; or
- Former Facility Operator Assistant training.
Replaces old “Level 2”
Participants can expect to learn about:
- Floors and Draining
- Spraying and Flooding
- Painting
- Taping
- Ice Equipment
- Plant Equipment
- Rocks
- Pebbling and Water Quality
