The Rideau Curling Club is pleased to offer a comprehensive program for curlers ages eight to seventeen! We emphasize developing the proper technique, game knowledge and of course, having fun!
Lessons focus on not only the technical aspects of the game, but also strategy-based play and etiquette. Instruction is offered by experienced volunteers who have taken formal coach training. To provide a low student to instructor ratio, players are separated into small groups based on age and skill level.
For players who are new to curling we do offer a trial program, where players can try two weeks before they commit to paying for the whole season. For players who are pursuing the competitive stream, the program will focus on developing new skills and honing existing ones.
All coaches are required to have a valid (within the last three years) police check. We also rely heavily on our parent volunteers to help with organizing things like snacks and bonspiel participation.
The Rideau Curling Club’s Youth Program is eligible for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Funding Program. It is a program that funds registration and equipment costs for youth ages four to eighteen from families with limited financial resources.
