2024 AGM and Call for Directors

CALL FOR BOARD MEMBERS: We are looking for driven, enthusiastic members to join our Board! Passion for the game and for helping your fellow curlers is a must, but we’re also looking for people with a financial background and/or someone who has been involved with youth curling.

There are two positions open for election on the Board for a two-year term. If you are interested in sitting on our Board of Directors, or if you have any questions, please email chair@ovca.com.

LOOKING FOR AN IT DIRECTOR: The OVCA is also looking for a technically inclined volunteer to become our non-voting IT Director.  This person will have familiarity with the Google Workspace suite of apps and their administration, as well as some familiarity and experience working with web servers.  This position is for an indeterminate term (there is no term limit).

DEVELOPMENT FUND REVIEW COMMITTEE: If neither of those positions are of interest, we’re still looking for ONE (1) person to sit on the Development Fund Review Committee.  The DFRC screens applications for the Development Fund, and helps guide applicants through the process.

**EDIT August 23rd, 2024 – Posting changed from 2 to 1 person needed. The DFRC currently sits at 5 of 6 possible members.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

The deadline for submitting an application to join the Board of Administrators has been extended to 11:59pm, Wednesday November 15th.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence, now’s the time to apply! Without the Board of Administrators, the OVCA’s ability to assist clubs in emergencies is AT RISK.

Please consider volunteering your time to this worthy committee.

The OVCA’s Board of Administrators is looking for up to three (3) volunteers to help clubs and centres in our region.

The OVCA’s Development Fund is a loan program available to all member clubs and centres that provides low-interest loans for capital improvements and emergency capital repairs.

The Board of Administrators is responsible for screening loan requests and providing recommendations to the Board of Directors on whether the applications should be approved. In addition, the Board of Administrators can provide recommendations to the OVCA on the operation of the Fund and its criteria.

The Board of Administrators is looking to fill up to three (3) positions. Each position is for a three year term. The Board of Administrators is a standing committee of the OVCA that meets only when an application is received (typically once or twice a year).

Specifically, the Board of Administrators is looking for candidates with experience/skillsets in: Finance, Law, Risk Management and/or Engineering. The OVCA is committed to building a diverse committee and we encourage those who identify as persons with a disability, persons from visible minority groups, persons who identify as LGTBQ2S+ or non-binary, and indigenous persons to apply.
